HISTORY: DeRenne Middle School houses the Honors Academy for Scholastic Exploration. Created to meet the needs of students with outstanding academic ability, the academy encourages students to pursue areas in which they have superior interest and potential. Academic and exploratory classes provide experiences that emphasize problem-solving skills in various areas. Acceptance criteria includes grades, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations and attendance.
