SCHOOL SUMMARY: East Broad Elementary School has the same name as a former school that was located on East Broad at Gwinnett Street until the seventies.
Named as one of Georgia's 1997 "Schools of Excellence," East Broad's magnet program is the Technology/Talent Pool Academy. There, students focus on technology-enhanced instruction in language arts, mathematics, health, social studies and science. The talent pool aspect of the magnet academy provides enhanced learning for gifted and talented students.
The school features about 306 networked computers housed in individual classrooms and three special lab settings. A complete television production studio enhances the curriculum, providing students with hands-on experience with video equipment. All classrooms have computers, televisions and VCRs.
East Broad students wear navy blue, red and khaki uniforms.
