SCHOOL SUMMARY: Low Elementary School is named after Savannah native Juliette Gordon Low, who founded the Girl Scouts of America in 1912 while living in Savannah. Although the organization originated in England and Scotland, Low brought the idea here, where it quickly became successful. In a matter of years, the Girl Scouts went national. Low, whose nickname was Daisy, was born at 142 Bull St. in 1860 and died in 1927.
